Music lovers can now be immortalised when they die by having their ashes baked into vinyl records to leave behind for loved ones. A UK company called And Vinyly is offering people the chance to press their ashes in a vinyl recording of their own voice, their favourite tunes or their last will and testament. Een onderzoek naar het gedrag van de Amerikaanse muziekconsument heeft uitgewezen dat 91 procent van de totale omzet in geluidsdragers wordt bepaald door slechts 2% van de releases. Van alle albums die in 2009 zijn verschenen heeft slechts een klein percentage, 2,1%, meer verkocht dan 5000 exemplaren. Uit het onderzoek bleek ook dat de cd nog steeds de populairste geluidsdrager is, goed voor 75% van de omzet. Vooral oudere muziekliefhebbers houden vast aan de cd. Een ander opvallend resultaat van het onderzoek is de wederopstanding van de vinylplaat...
